Building Communities That Feel Like Home

Sustainable systems, warm rituals, and healthier boundaries for creators whose brains were never going to thrive inside a beige productivity template.

THE SESSION

The creator was never
the broken part.

Most creator advice assumes infinite energy, stable executive function, and seven unpaid interns hiding beneath your desk.

Traditional creator advice

Do everything. Always. Forever.

When the stack collapses, creators blame themselves instead of the architecture.

Audience size changes logistics, not legitimacy.

Example at 50 viewers

Shrine Vibe Onboarding — one recurring prompt gives regulars a welcoming role without turning chat into unpaid orientation staff.

THE LANTERN PATH

Six stations. One sustainable community.

01

Brain-aware systems

Build around energy, interruption, and returnability — not an imaginary creator who wakes at 5 a.m. delighted by spreadsheets.

02

Low-SpU⩊Uns content

Keep formats that still feel intentional when prep capacity has left the mortal plane.

03

Belonging psychology

Design clear invitations, low-pressure participation, recognition, and community memory.

04

Healthy gamification

Use autonomy, competence, and relatedness without manufacturing anxiety or financial pressure.

05

Boundaries

Make warmth sustainable through expectations, escalation paths, and scripts that protect creator and community.

06

Ethical tools

Let automation carry repetition. Keep human judgment, voice, and connection human.

PLAY LAB

Touch the framework.
Keep what helps.

No timers. No forced disclosure. Lurking remains a valid build strategy.

SPU⩊UNS LOADOUT

How much creator energy do you have today?

3 SpU⩊Uns: Standard human cosplay
TODAY'S RETURNABLE PLAN

Your normal format, minus one optional production layer.

Let tools carry: Queue recurring commands and hydrate reminders.

Boundary: Keep a BRB reset available before you need it.

THE TAKE-HOME TOOLKIT

Useful after the
conference badge comes off.

Every framework leaves the room as something creators can adapt, print, or hand to their team. No pristine Notion graveyard required.

01SpU⩊Uns sticker set

A visual energy vocabulary for check-ins without forced disclosure.

02Low-SpU⩊Uns stream menu

Formats sorted by energy, prep, social demand, and recovery cost.

03Belonging loop canvas

Map how a person is noticed, invited, included, rewarded, and remembered.

04Ritual recipe cards

Turn one repeatable community behavior into culture.

05Lurker permission slip

Explicitly validates quiet participation as real participation.

06Boundary script deck

Warm, firm language for predictable community pressure points.

07Engagement checklist

Catch extraction, exclusion, and maintenance debt before launch.

08Goblin intern card

A pocket policy for ethical creator use of AI.

09Community quest board

Optional collective goals designed around contribution, not spending.

10Personal action plan

One system to stop, one ritual to start, and one boundary to protect.

SUBMISSION BRIEF

A Twitch-native session with a life beyond the room.

SESSION PROMISE

Creators leave with one system they can return to, one ritual their community can share, and one boundary that makes staying warm possible.

WHY TWITCHCON · WHY NOW

Creator sustainability is often discussed as individual self-care. This session treats it as design: workflows, rituals, moderation structures, and tools that make participation easier without making the creator endlessly available.

WHO IT SERVES

Streamers, VTubers, moderators, community builders, and creator teams at every scale — especially anyone whose current system works beautifully until a human being has to operate it.

ATTENDEES WILL
  • Map energy-aware formats.
  • Build an inclusive belonging loop.
  • Audit gamification and boundaries.
  • Delegate repetition ethically.
FORMAT

Primary: 45–60 minute Community Session
Adaptation: hands-on Interactive Workshop
Participation: optional, observable, accessible

Neurodivergent by Design: Building Communities That Feel Like Home

A practical, creator-centered session about building sustainable systems, warm community rituals, and healthy boundaries without forcing neurodivergent creators into traditional productivity molds. Attendees will learn to design energy-aware workflows, welcome lurkers, apply healthy gamification, reduce cognitive load with ethical tools, and create communities that can stay warm without consuming the creator keeping them alive.
